Curtidos Modernos was born to offer leather for the footwear sector, with a monthly production of 300 hides.
1979
The good quality of our products increased our output growth by 100%, so the decision to invest in more specialized equipment was taken. In the early 80's we began to be partners with CICUR and ANPIC.
1981
100% of our installed capacity was used, and due to increasing leather orders, we saw the need to start building two new industrial plants in the Fracc. Industrial San Crispin. The latest and best technology was purchased to meet the demand and quality of our products’ equipment.
1991
We began to produce in the new 8,000 square meter facility, where it has a capacity for up to 30,000 hides per month.
1998
We became suppliers to one of the most important automotive companies in the world.
2000
CUEROMEX was born, a subsidiary of CUMMSA to provide maquila services WET BLUE, WET WHITE & RE-TANN.
2003
In order to increase our scraping and re-tanning capacity and to serve more customers, a third plant of 2,500 meters for finishing leather was constructed
2004
Given the fierce competition for global markets CUEROMEX obtains the IMMEX program (Manufacturing Industry and Export Maquiladora) in order to increase and promote exports and to enter international markets.
2008
CUMMSA & CUEROMEX merge to provide a better service to our customers and expand our product catalog. Also we worked with the British Leather Company (BLC) and got the ISO certification 9001:2008 for leather in the automotive industry.
2012
We continued to improve every day, and as a result, we obtained the certifications MSQ (Mexican Sourcing Quality) with the highest level of excellence, Ecotannery of CICUR and the ISO recertification 9001: 2008
2015
Earlier this year we got the distinctive SRC (Socially Responsible Company) demonstrating that we are a company committed to our community and the society around us. Also in partnership with ALFAMEX DRY, we ventured into the development of automotive crust.
